A violent dispute inside Parsamaniya Garhi Fort in Satna escalated into a shooting involving members of a former Nagod royal family. Yogita Singh sustained a gunshot wound and was hospitalized after surgery. Police arrested Sunita Singh Parihar and recovered a .22 bore rifle. Investigation continues into the family conflict and events leading to the firing.
The injured woman, identified as Yogita Singh, sustained a gunshot wound to her abdomen during the altercation. She was initially rushed to a hospital in Satna before being shifted to a private medical facility in Rewa for advanced treatment. Doctors performed surgery and successfully removed the bullet. Her condition is currently reported to be stable.
According to police officials, the incident is linked to an ongoing marital and familial dispute within the former Nagod royal family. Yogita Singh, the first wife of Rupendra Kumar Singh, also known as Baba Raja, had arrived at the fort two days prior along with her relatives in an attempt to resolve the prolonged conflict.
During the discussions inside the fort premises, tensions escalated between the two sides, leading to a heated argument that quickly turned into a serious physical confrontation. Authorities allege that during the escalation, Sunita Singh Parihar opened fire using a licensed .22 bore rifle, striking Yogita Singh in the abdomen. Police have since recovered the firearm used in the incident.
Following the shooting, law enforcement officials arrested Sunita Singh Parihar. Preliminary investigation suggests that the incident is the result of a personal and matrimonial dispute that had been ongoing for a considerable period. Yogita Singh’s mother, Narendra Kumari, has alleged that Rupendra Kumar Singh was also present at the scene during the incident. However, he has not been named as an accused at this stage.
Investigating officers are continuing to examine the sequence of events leading up to the firing, as well as the roles of all individuals present at Parsamaniya Garhi Fort during the confrontation. The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to establish accountability in the violent episode involving members of a former royal family.
